The combination of OpenGL with any GUI tool can never be underestimated.
As default, wxWidgets might not support OpenGL. If it does not, take a look at $(WXWIDGETS)\include\wx\msw\setup.h. And search for
#define wxUSE_GLCANVAS 0
and change the 0 to 1.
Then you need to compile wxWidgets again. As to how, please refer to an earlier post.
